Coach & Instructor

Anthony (Tony) Merrill

After graduating high school and competing in high school and college level sports, Coach Tony decided to pursue his passion for coaching baseball and softball in 1987. He has been coaching boys and girls ages 5-18 for more than 30 years!

 

Today, Tony is Adrenaline’s Lead Instructor and takes great pride in instructing and teaching young players the skills to play at the highest levels. He offers private baseball and softball instruction and camps for Adrenaline, including hitting, fielding, pitching and catching. He also helps players adopt mental strength that leads to success on and off the field, including respect, leadership, teamwork, knowledge, confidence, and navigating both wins and losses.


Coach Tony is also Adrenaline Sports Academy's Travel Ball Coordinator, General Manager, and Director of Operations. Additionally, he coaches two Adrenaline teams, and is responsible for interviewing coaches and players.

Coach & Instructor

Kyleigh Norris

Kyleigh Norris is an alumni of Wagner College’s Division 1 softball program, located in Staten Island, NY.

​

Finishing her senior season with a team leading .500 batting average, Kyleigh was an impactful player for the Wagner Seahawks. With a degree in psychology and a minor in childhood education, Kyleigh dedicates her time to helping the younger generation of softball players by serving as an assistant coach at #1 high school program in New Jersey, Donovan Catholic, and helping lead them to win the Tournament of Champions for the state of NJ.

Kyleigh also helps coach an 18u Premier team for the NJ Cheetahs which is dedicated too pushing and teaching elite training. Here, Kyleigh is responsible for working with the catchers and assisting with hitting. 

 

Having graduated from Wagner College in May 2020, Kyleigh will be pursuing her master’s degree in School Psychology at Eastern University in St. David’s, PA while being the Graduate Assistant coach with the Eagles softball team.

Coach & Instructor

Greg Short

Greg Short is a highly experienced international pitching consultant, having worked with MLB teams and private training academies in the Dominican Republic and Aruba. He is the founder of the New Jersey Pitching Association and a pitching consultant for numerous colleges and universities nationwide. Greg's playing experience includes being part of the first state championship team at Toms River East (1985-1989), being named a 2nd team All-County, winning the silver medal at the Garden State Games, and receiving Larry D'Zio Award for excellence.

 

Greg's coaching experience spans two decades, with positions such as camp director of Toms River East Little League (1995), pitching coach of Monmouth University (1996-1999), assistant varsity coach at Jackson Memorial High School (2000) and Manchester Twp. High School (2001), Head Coach of Princeton High School (2002-2003), Pitching Coach at Felician College (2004), Assistant Coach at Lakewood High School(2005). In 2010, Greg was inducted into the Toms River Schools Athletic Hall Of Fame. In 2012, Greg was invited by the Minister of Sports for the Dominican Republic to present his training protocols to MLB scouts and private trainers. In 2016, Greg presented at the 1st Annual National Netherlands Baseball Conference in Aruba.

 

Greg currently lives in Toms River with his wife Jessica and son, Mason. When he’s not coaching, Greg enjoys spending time with his family and attending events. He is passionate about others reach their goals through sports and looks forward to helping your child reach their potential.
